You don’t dream to escape reality; you dream to create your reality. The Lord has given you a vision—a purpose, a dream placed deep within your heart. But it’s not just meant to sit in your imagination. It’s meant to be co-created with Him and brought into existence. So, let me ask you: What are you doing today to move toward the vision God has given you?
Hi Queen, welcome! My name is Janel Ranee, and I’m a faithologist and certified faith-based business mindset coach. My mission is to encourage you to step out on faith and equip you with the tools to level up your life. Today, we’re diving into how to practically walk out your God-given vision.
Many of us have received a vision from the Lord but struggle to take the first steps toward it. We spend time imagining it but fail to implement it into our daily lives. In this blog, I’ll show you how to begin living out your vision using the acronym VISION:
- V: Visualize It
- I: Implement Steps
- S: Seek God’s Guidance
- I: Invest in Resources
- O: Overcome Obstacles
- N: Nurture Your Progress
Let’s break it down step by step.
V: Visualize It
Every vision begins in the mind. Proverbs 29:18 says, “Without vision, the people perish.” To walk out your God-given vision, you must first visualize it.
This isn’t just about daydreaming. Visualization means mentally stepping into the life God has shown you. Ask yourself:
- Where will you be a year from now? Five years from now?
- What does your life look like?
- What does it feel like to live in your dream home or serve others through your God-given talents?
- What are the sounds, tastes, and even smells of that reality?
When you visualize with detail, you engage your subconscious mind. Your brain doesn’t differentiate between imagination and reality, which means this practice helps create the neural pathways to make your dream more attainable. Visualizing daily strengthens your belief and primes your brain to act on opportunities to move you closer to your vision.
Key Scripture:
“A wise man’s eyes are in his head.” — Ecclesiastes 2:14
I: Implement Steps
The next step is action. A vision without action is just a fantasy. You need a plan to turn that vision into a reality.
Start by breaking your vision into smaller, manageable steps:
- Set clear goals for the next week, month, and year.
- Create a routine that aligns with your goals.
- Track your progress to stay accountable.
For example, if your vision is to start a ministry or business, start by researching, brainstorming names, or taking courses to gain the skills you’ll need. Implementation brings clarity, and clarity breeds confidence.
S: Seek God’s Guidance
A God-given vision requires God’s help. Pray over your vision daily, asking Him to guide your steps and open the right doors. Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Trusting God means surrendering your plans to Him, knowing He will refine and align them with His perfect will.
I: Invest in Resources
To grow your vision, you must invest in it. This could mean:
- Time: Dedicate consistent time to work on your vision daily or weekly.
- Education: Read books, take courses, or seek mentors to help you develop the skills needed.
- Finances: Be willing to sow into your vision, whether that’s purchasing materials, hiring help, or attending conferences.
God calls us to be wise stewards of what we’ve been given. Investing in your growth and resources shows you’re serious about what He’s placed on your heart.
O: Overcome Obstacles
Every vision will face challenges, but those obstacles are part of the process. They’re not there to stop you but to refine you.
Here’s how to face them:
- Identify the Challenge: Name the obstacle—fear, lack of resources, procrastination—and pray over it.
- Seek Support: Find people who will encourage and pray with you.
- Take It One Step at a Time: Remember, small progress is still progress.
Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Lean on that strength.
N: Nurture Your Progress
Walking out your vision isn’t a one-time decision—it’s a lifestyle. Commit to nurturing your progress by:
- Celebrating Milestones: Acknowledge the small wins along the way.
- Staying Consistent: Keep showing up, even when it feels hard.
- Continuing in Faith: Trust that what you’re working on today will bear fruit in God’s timing.
Nurturing your progress also means remaining flexible. Visions often evolve as we grow. Be open to God refining your direction as you move forward.
Final Thoughts
The vision God has given you is not just for you—it’s for His glory and to impact others. You don’t have to figure it all out at once. Take it step by step, trusting that God is guiding you every step of the way.
Remember, you must see it in the spiritual realm before it manifests in the physical. Visualize it, take action, and partner with God to co-create the reality He’s shown you.
