Confidently Stepping Into Your God-Given Calling: A Guide for New Entrepreneurial Mothers
Being a new entrepreneurial mother isn’t easy.

Your life is already filled with countless responsibilities, and adding the pursuit of your God-given calling on top of that might feel overwhelming.

Trust me, I’ve been there. But let me remind you of this truth: God didn’t call you to something without equipping you for it. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and you have what it takes to walk confidently in your purpose.

If you’re unsure where to start or how to build the confidence needed to pursue this calling, I’m here to help.

I’ll guide you through practical and faith-filled steps to boost your confidence and step boldly into the life God has designed for you.

Let’s break it down step by step:

Alignment

The foundation of confidence is alignment with God. Confidence is not just about believing in yourself—it’s about knowing whose you are.

When you align your life with God’s Word and purpose, confidence naturally follows.

Why?

Because your Creator is the only one who truly knows why He created you. As you spend time meditating on scripture, your identity as His child will solidify, and self-doubt will begin to fade.

For example, meditate on verses like Joshua 1:8, which says, “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

Here’s how to build alignment:
  1. Daily Prayer and Meditation: Spend intentional time with God each day. Ask Him to guide your steps and reveal His plans for you.
  2. Scripture Affirmations: Write down Bible verses that remind you of your worth and purpose. Speak them aloud daily.
  3. Trust His Timing: Remember, alignment with God means trusting His timeline, even when things don’t happen as quickly as you hope.
The more you align with God, the more confident you’ll feel about taking your next step.

Awareness

Before you can fully walk in your calling, you need to develop a deep awareness of who you are. God has equipped you with specific gifts, talents, and passions for a reason.

To cultivate this awareness, try the following exercise:

  • Divide a piece of paper into two columns.
    • On one side, write “Things I Love to Do.”
    • On the other, write “Things I’m Good At.”
  • List at least ten items in each column, then look for overlaps. Those intersections are often where your passions and God-given talents meet.
Awareness also means identifying limiting beliefs.

What lies have you been believing about yourself? Replace them with God’s truth. For instance, if you often think, “I’m not enough,” counter that with Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Articulate

Once you’ve identified your gifts and strengths, it’s time to start articulating them—both to yourself and others. Speaking truth over yourself is a powerful way to build confidence and renew your mind.

Romans 12:2 reminds us to “be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

This transformation starts with words. What you repeatedly hear shapes what you believe, so make a habit of declaring affirmations that align with God’s truth.

Some examples include:

  • “I am chosen and loved by God.”
  • “I am equipped to fulfill my purpose.”
  • “I am capable of learning and growing every day.”
In addition to affirming your identity, articulate boundaries. Setting clear limits on your time and energy will protect you from burnout and allow you to focus on what truly matters. For instance, don’t hesitate to say no to commitments that don’t align with your goals or values.

Action

Now comes the critical step: taking action. Confidence grows when you keep promises to yourself and show up consistently. Faith without works is dead (James 2:26), so it’s essential to put your faith into action.

Here’s how to take meaningful steps toward your calling:

  1. Start Small: Break big goals into smaller, manageable tasks.
  2. Track Your Progress: Use a planner or habit tracker to hold yourself accountable. I’ve created resources like my Clear Purpose Roadmap to help you stay on track.
  3. Commit to Growth: Invest time in developing your gifts. This might mean reading books, taking courses, or seeking mentorship in your area of interest.
Remember, progress is more important than perfection. Every small step you take is a victory worth celebrating.

Applaud

Lastly, don’t forget to celebrate your wins—big and small. It’s easy to get so focused on what’s next that you forget to pause and acknowledge how far you’ve come.

When you applaud yourself, you’re reinforcing positive habits and giving your brain a dose of dopamine, the feel-good chemical. This isn’t just about feeling good—it’s about training your mind to associate effort with reward.

Here are some ways to celebrate yourself:

  • Treat yourself to something you enjoy after completing a milestone.
  • Write down three things you’re proud of each week.
  • Share your accomplishments with trusted friends or family who will cheer you on.
Most importantly, give glory to God for every success. Remember 1 Thessalonians 5:18: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Your Journey Ahead

Confidence is like a muscle—it grows stronger with consistent effort. By following these steps, you’ll not only build your confidence but also move closer to fulfilling your God-given calling.

Here’s a quick recap:

  1. Alignment: Get in sync with God’s Word and purpose.
  2. Awareness: Discover your gifts, passions, and limiting beliefs.
  3. Articulate: Speak truth over yourself and set boundaries.
  4. Action: Take consistent steps toward your goals.
  5. Applaud: Celebrate your progress and give thanks.
As you walk this journey, remember that you are not alone. God is with you every step of the way, cheering you on. And so am I.
You’ve got this, Queen.

Keep putting one foot in front of the other, stepping out in faith, and trusting God for your next step.
