To Change Your Life You Must Change The Way You T.H.I.N.K!

Think Differently: Redesign Your Life by Changing the Way You Think

Welcome, Queen! Are you feeling unfulfilled? Does it feel like you're just going through the motions, living a life that lacks purpose? The reason you’re feeling this way is simple—the Lord has more for you. If you’re ready to embrace your calling, let’s go on this journey together. I’m Janel Ranee, your certified faith-based business mindset coach, and on this blog (and my channel!), we’re all about stepping out on faith, breaking down barriers, and equipping you to walk confidently in your purpose. If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place!

Today, we’re diving into how you can transform your life by changing your thinking. We’re going to unpack the acronym THINK and look at how it can empower you to redesign your life in alignment with God’s vision.

You don't have to settle for a life of default. God has a plan just for you. Remember, Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you.” You were born with a purpose!

So if you feel stuck, it’s because there is more waiting for you on the other side.
Let’s break it down. How can you THINK differently?

T: Time Alone with God

The first step to transformation is spending time alone with God. If you want to walk in your Kingdom assignment, your first step is aligning yourself with God’s plans.

It’s crucial to build a relationship with Him. You were created with a purpose only He knows, and aligning with His will is essential.

As it says in Isaiah 55:8-9: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

God’s thoughts about your life are beyond anything you could imagine. But without spending time with Him, you won’t discover His higher purpose for you.

Time with God is when He speaks to your heart. It’s in those quiet moments that He reveals more of who He is, and ultimately, more of who you are. The more you know God, the more you understand yourself, because you are made in His image. This is where you discover who you truly are.

How to Spend Time Alone with God:
  • Pray Daily: Set aside dedicated time every day to speak with Him.
  • Read His Word: Dive into scripture, even if it’s just one verse a day.
  • Journal Your Thoughts: Write down your reflections and any guidance you feel God is giving you.
The more time you spend in God’s presence, the more you’ll understand His plan for your life.

H: Be Honest with God

The next step is honesty. Be real with God about how you’re feeling. If you’re frustrated with your routine or feeling unfulfilled, tell Him. God wants an open and honest relationship with you.

He’s not just here for the good days; He’s here for the tough ones too. In Psalm 37:4, we’re reminded that if we delight ourselves in the Lord, He’ll give us the desires of our hearts. So if you desire a life that feels purposeful and abundant, know that God put that desire in you.

It’s okay to be honest about where you are and where you want to be. Jesus came not only for you to survive but to live life abundantly. If your reality isn’t lining up with that promise, let God know.

He knows you better than you know yourself, and He wants more for you. The Lord can and will exceed your expectations if you allow Him to.

Questions to Ask Yourself When Being Honest with God:
  1. What is lacking in my life right now?
  2. What would my ideal day look like if I was living my purpose?
  3. What areas of my life am I struggling with?
God wants to hear these answers from you. When you come to Him honestly, He can begin the work of realigning your life.

I: Imagine Your Ideal Life

This step is all about using your imagination. Imagine yourself living your dream life—your life if you were fully walking in your purpose. Take a moment to close your eyes and truly envision it. Think about it down to the smallest detail.

What are you doing? Where are you? What does a typical Monday morning look like in this life? God has given you a gift in your imagination; it’s a glimpse into the life He has in store for you.

In Ephesians 3:20, we’re told that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine. God’s dreams for you are so much bigger than even your greatest imagination. So, take that time to dream, because He can outdo it all.

Steps to Imagine Your Ideal Life:
  1. Visualize Your Day: Picture your ideal day from morning to night.
  2. Imagine Your Impact: How are you using your gifts to help others?
  3. See the Details: Think about the little things—the clothes you wear, the environment around you, the people you interact with.
Take yourself there. God gave you your imagination for a reason; it’s one way He speaks to you, allowing you to dream and connect with what’s possible.

N: Neutralize Negative Thoughts

Now, as you start dreaming and imagining this abundant life, negative thoughts will inevitably creep in. The enemy wants to keep you stuck in your current mindset, whispering doubts like, “You’re not good enough,” or “Who do you think you are?” But those thoughts don’t come from God.

Second Corinthians 10:5 teaches us to “take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ.” You have to capture those negative thoughts and replace them with God’s truth.

When you hear those doubts, combat them with Scripture. Speak the Word of God over your life. Say, “I am more than a conqueror” (Romans 8:37), or “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). Declare these truths daily, even when you don’t feel it. Over time, these truths will renew your mind and strengthen your faith.

How to Neutralize Negative Thoughts:
  • Identify the Lie: When you hear a negative thought, recognize it as a lie from the enemy.
  • Replace It with Scripture: Find a Bible verse that counters that thought.
  • Speak It Out Loud: There is power in speaking truth over your life.
This is a discipline, and like any discipline, it takes time. But the more you practice, the easier it becomes to silence those thoughts.

K: Keep God's Thoughts at the Forefront

Finally, you need to keep God’s thoughts and vision for your life at the forefront of your mind. This isn’t a one-time decision; it’s a daily commitment. One of my favorite verses, Joshua 1:8, says, “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.

Then you will be prosperous and successful.” God’s Word should be your guiding light.
Meditate on His Word daily. When you wake up, recite a verse.

Before you go to bed, reflect on His promises. Fill your mind with His truth so that when the world tries to steer you off course, you’re already grounded in His Word.

Practical Ways to Keep God’s Vision First:
  1. Daily Scripture Reading: Even if it’s just one verse a day, let the Word of God be your daily bread.
  2. Affirmations Based on Scripture: Create personal affirmations from verses that speak to you.
  3. Visualization Exercises: Regularly imagine yourself living in God’s promises.
This is the journey to thinking differently. By aligning your thoughts with God’s, you’re setting yourself up for the life He designed for you—one of purpose, peace, and prosperity.
